Paintings of Kainuu (2008 – 2009):

Wax tempera paintings (2008):

Wax tempera combined with gold leaf:
The diminishing light of autumn and the onset of spring with its warm hues, not to mention other aspects of nature, have been new to me. All events happen and can be seen in stronger colour and forms of change. I could paint just the sky forever.

Runo (Poem) is a name (2006 – 2007):

Reduction Woodcuts
These reduction woodcuts are mainly based on Seppo Lappalinen’s poems. I use the reduction woodcut technique, which creates more or less unique prints. Sometimes there is just one print and at other times I print a series with less differentiation within the series. The colours I use contain wax and some prints also contain gold leaf. This series of poems is a subject, like the tempera paintings, that I like to come back to again and again. The series is continually growing. There are still many poems out there.

These flower woodcuts originate from my trips to Madeira. I have visited the Boa Vista orchid garden in Funchal several times and drawn there.
